So if you need a little time to relax, the following yoga poses for stress relief could be the very thing you’re after. Why not try some right now…

Symptoms of Stress

Stress can really take its toll on the body and mind. It can prevent you from sleeping, affect heart health, brain function, and other physical symptoms like fatigue, inflammation, and erectile dysfunction.

With nowhere to turn, you may resort to medical treatments and choosing male supplements to overcome these symptoms. But yoga can actually work wonders in these areas too. Let’s take a look.

How Yoga Poses For Stress Relief Work

Yoga incorporates three main elements: breathing, meditation, and poses. Meditation has been proven to relax the body and mind to bring you peace and well-being. Deep breathing also helps calm you down and refocuses your mind to think clearly.

Yoga poses for stress relief have been around for thousands of years. As you adopt each pose, you put your body in optimal positions to increase blood flow, improve flexibility, strength, fitness, and energy levels. All of this makes the perfect activity for relieving stress.

1. Standing forward bend

This yoga position is simple to do to relieve tension in the body. Stand up straight and take a deep breath. Then slowly exhale as you bend your body forward, fingers almost touching the floor. Hold for a few breaths before slowing returning to the start.

2. Seated Forward Bend

Similar to the standing forward bend, it can be done at your desk for a little body and mind relaxation. While seated, extend your legs, breathe out and try to touch your feet. Hold the position for about 10 seconds before returning back on the inhale.

3. Cat Pose

Get onto your hands and knees and take a deep breath in. Then as you exhale, pull your stomach in towards your spine while arching your back upwards and pointing your head down. The stretch on your spine helps to soothe and release tension.

4. Child’s Pose

Simply kneel on the floor with your legs together and sit back on your feet. Then bend forward so your chest touches your thighs, and rest your hands at your sides. Stay here for a minute or two and take some slow deep breaths as you relax.

5. Cobra Pose

This yoga position helps open up the chest, making breathing easier and provides fast relaxation. Lie on your front with both hands face down beside each shoulder. Slowly push up to lift your torso from the floor, inhaling deeply while extending the spine. Hold for 20-30 seconds.

When Stress Hits, Strike Back With Yoga

As you can see, yoga has some incredible health benefits, particularly when it comes to reducing stress. And these five poses are a great way to get started and use on a regular basis.

The more you practice, the more you’ll notice how much easier it becomes to control your stress levels. Soon you’ll wonder how you ever coped without them!
