Dr. Leen Alhoussan Pushes for Better Healthcare for the Underprivileged
You probably haven’t heard the name Dr. Leen Alhoussan – yet. There is a good chance, however, that this could soon change. There are many bright young minds in the field of medicine, and Leen Al-Houssan is one of those.
From her earliest years of schooling, where she showed hints of brilliance, to her accolades and awards from her post-secondary education, Dr. Leen Alhoussan was on a path. Early on, it seemed evident that her heart was for helping others, but where that would lead wasn’t decided until later.
Leen Al-Houssan Chose Medicine
Before Leen Al-Houssan became Dr. Houssan, she was a stellar student with many career options. After careful consideration, Al-Houssan enrolled at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
Among her many achievements at the Royal College of Surgeons, perhaps her proudest came during her senior year. That year she was awarded the International Citizenship Award. This honor distinguishes medical students who demonstrate extraordinary talent and work ethic with a commitment to the field of medicine.
Looking to Make a Difference
Even before Leen Al-Houssan was Dr. Alhoussan, it was no secret that she had a heart for helping others. Her decision to choose medicine, in fact, was largely driven by her desire to help those less fortunate than herself.
While still young in the field of medicine, Dr. Al-Houssan hasn’t allowed her youth to stop her but drive her. From research projects to continuing to advance her studies and knowledge, Dr. Leen Alhoussan is looking to make a difference in medicine.
Outside of Medicine
Artistic expression, in particular in the medium of drawing and painting, are some of the favorite ways Dr. Al-Houssan spends her time. The gym is another favorite hangout for the doctor when she isn’t in the business of medicine or helping people.
