What is vaping?

There are electronic devices or vape devices that contain a liquid. That liquid is heated and vapors are produced. Inhaling these vapors is vaping. There are different vape devices or electronic cigarettes that differ in shape, working and usage. Many people start vaping to quit smoking so, not only vape consumers are increasing but also cigarette consumers are decreasing.

There are vape shops that sell e-cigarettes and e-liquids. DashVapes sell different products for vaping but these products are sold keeping in mind the vaping age that is 18 or 21.

Styles of vaping

There are two styles of vaping. These are:

  • Mouth to lung or MTL style of vaping: In this style, you inhale the vapors or aerosol through your mouth that reaches your lungs.
  • Direct to lung or DTL/DL style of vaping: In this style vapor directly reaches your lungs through a vape device.

Types of vaping

There are two types of vaping depending upon the resistance of the atomizer. An atomizer is a coil that is heated to convert e-liquid to aerosol or simply vapors.

  • Standard vaping: Mouth to lung (MTL) vaping with atomizers above 1.0 ohms.
  • Sub-ohm vaping: Direct to lung (DTL or DL) atomizers less than 1.0 ohms.
  • Temperature control vaping: Atomizers less than 1.0 ohms.

What is vape liquid?

Vape liquid or e-liquid or vape juice is a liquid used in vape devices to form an aerosol. The main ingredients of vape liquids are:

  • Propylene glycol.
  • Vegetable glycerin.
  • Nicotine.
  • Flavors of different kinds.

Types of vape liquid

There are different types of vape liquids for different types of vaping. Liquids with propylene glycol of more than 50% are used for standard vaping and liquids with vegetable glycerin of more than 50% are used for sub-ohm vaping. There are five different types of e-liquids with different VG or PG ratios.

Vaping is not like smoking

Many differences can be seen when we compare vaping and smoking. Though both are inhaled and some substances like nicotine or tobacco that are used in them are the same yet they are also different in many ways. The nicotine concentration in e-cigarettes is lesser than burned cigarettes.

Also, many e-cigarettes are tobacco-free while burned cigarettes contain tobacco. And that’s one of the reasons people start vaping when they want to quit smoking. Well, non-smokers shouldn’t use it but if you are a long-term smoker then it is better to switch to vaping.

Vaping age

Different countries have different laws and principles regarding electronic cigarettes or vaping. In some countries, it is not legal because it is considered harmful for health but in many countries vaping is legal but these countries have set a vaping age.

In most countries, the vaping age is 18 whereas in some countries including the US the vaping age is 21. So, parents and regulators must guide teenagers and make sure that they don’t do it before a certain age.

Conclusion

Anything that contains nicotine and especially tobacco is not good for health. Yes, some people don’t consider it harmful but it’s not like that. Especially teenagers or children should not vape.

Many people use e-cigarettes publicly which intrigues youngsters. So, there is a need to inform teenagers about it so that they don’t start vaping before a certain age.
